Strong Password Generator
Create strong, random passwords with your browser's secure random generator. Choose the length and character types.
Runs in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded.
What makes a password strong?
- Length. Every extra character multiplies the number of guesses an attacker needs.
- Randomness. Words, names and dates are guessed first. Random characters are not.
- Uniqueness. Use a different password for every site, so one leak can't unlock the rest.
The strength meter shows the password's entropy in bits. Aim for 80 bits or more; 100+ is excellent.
Frequently asked questions
Are these passwords really random?
Yes. They use crypto.getRandomValues, the browser's cryptographically secure random number generator, with unbiased sampling. Math.random is never used.
Do you store or see the passwords?
No. Passwords are generated on your device and never sent anywhere. Close the tab and they are gone.
How long should a password be?
Use at least 16 characters for important accounts. Length matters more than symbols: a 20-character password with letters and digits is stronger than an 8-character one with symbols. Use a password manager so you do not have to remember them.
